This photo is scanned from the book, "Show People" by Gilbert Mant 1985.

The granstand could seat 200 people. The whole setting looks different to the photo taken in 1900. Looking closely at the foreground, it looks like the ground has been excavated. It is mentioned in "Upland Pastures" that the horse ring had to be increased and the grounds were levelled in the years after the grandstand was completed. The power pole has also been removed.
